The field

In Leviticus, the field owner left the corners of his harvest standing. The poor came after, picking up what was left.

That gleaning was not charity in the sense we mean it now. It was structural. A built-in slack in the way the work got done. The owner took less so someone else could eat. No one had to ask.

The Gleaners Field is one person trying to live like that, in a small way. I travel where I am told to, listen for what I would have walked past, and write down what stays.

The writing is for the people who pray for me. Some of it is for me. A little of it might be for you.

If you are reading, you are already part of how this gets done. Thank you.
